Watkins Cup Regatta
September 24-25 2016

1. INVITATION
The Kentucky Lake Sailing Club cordially invites you and your crew to the Watkins Cup Regatta on September 24th & 25th. The regatta will be held on Kentucky Lake at Grand Rivers. Kentucky out of Light House Landing Marina
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
The regatta will be open to all boats for which a PHRF rating is available.
Skippers are responsible for obtaining a current PHRF handicap number for their boat (application for PHRF number is available from KLSC). Registration forms are available online and at the event.
3. CLASSIFICATION
Classes will be Jam A, am B, Spinnaker and Cruising
4. FEES
The regatta fee is 40.00 and will include a social event with dinner Friday night, September 23rd at the Lighthouse Landing deck. Everyone is invited.
As part of Kentucky Lake Race Week 2016 The commonwealth Yacht Club will have a Sea Food Boil at the Green Turtle Bay Beach on Saturday evening. The cost for this dinner is $25.00/ person and IS NOT INCLUDED in the Watkins Cup Registration. Reservations for this are required. 5. SCHEDULE
Early registration will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, September 23rd at the Lighthouse Landing deck. Late registration will be 8:00 am race day, also at Lighthouse Landing Deck, with the Captains Meeting to follow at 9:00. The first race will begin between 10:00 and 10:30 AM.
6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions will be available at registration. Instructions are also available at Kentucky Lake Sailing Club’s website (www.klsc.net)
7. RACING
The regatta will consist of as many as 5 races; three on Saturday and 2 on Sunday – dependent on wind/weather conditions. No race will start in less than 3kts. of sustained wind as determined by the race committee. No race will be started after 3:00pm on Saturday. On Sunday, skippers will meet on the lake for races which will start at 9:00 am and conclude around noon.
8. COURSES
The course for Spinnaker, Jam A and B will be triangular. The Cruising class will travel a distance course. Actual courses and course lengths will be determined by the race committee as per the weather conditions on race day.
9. LAUNCHING, DOCKING AND HAULING
Launching may be done at Lighthouse Landing Marina free of charge. A ramp is available for trailer launching. Docking and hauling may be arranged through Lighthouse Landing at 270.362.8201
10. PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded at the Lighthouse Landing deck on Sunday at 2:00 PM
11. INSURANCE
Each participant boat shall be insured by its owner with valid third party liability insurance.
